Why the wrist, and not the phone
A phone is the wrong instrument for this. It lives in a bag at the side of the court, and anything you have to walk over and unlock gets recorded at the end of the set, from memory, badly — or not at all. A watch is already on you, and a tap between points costs about as much attention as adjusting your grip.
That difference decides what data you end up with. Detail recorded during the match is accurate; detail reconstructed afterwards is a guess. The Apple Watch app exists so the statistics you look at later are worth trusting.
Live padel tracking on your wrist
- The score, as it happens. Points, games and sets tracked live, so the current state of the match is one glance away.
- Winners, errors and serves. One-tap controls for the shot that ended the point, logged against that point rather than added up loosely at the end.
- Haptic confirmation. The Watch tells you the tap registered without you needing to look at it — which is the whole point of doing this on a court instead of a couch.
- Stats on the fly. Your numbers update on your wrist while the match is still going.
Built for the court, not the couch
The Watch interface is deliberately blunt: large targets, few of them, and no navigating. You are wearing a glove-free hand on a hot court and you have about four seconds between rallies. Anything that needed precision or a second thought would go unused by the second set, and the app is designed around that constraint rather than in spite of it.
Syncing back to iPhone
Nothing has to be transferred by hand. What you logged on the Watch is already on your iPhone when you open it after the match, assembled into the point-by-point timeline and shot breakdown, ready to read while the game is still fresh. iCloud then keeps that match in step across your Apple devices.
Apple Health
Padelistics integrates with Apple Health, so a padel match can sit alongside your workouts and recovery data rather than in a silo of its own. If you already track training elsewhere in the Apple ecosystem, the match is part of that picture.
What you get afterwards
The wrist is the input. The reward is on the phone: a timeline of how the score was built, winners and errors separated by shot type, and charts putting this match next to everything else you have played. The Watch is what makes that detail cheap enough to collect every time.
